Michael M. Collins SC is a member of the Bars of Ireland, England & Wales and New York. He is a Bencher of the King’s Inns in Dublin, a Bencher of Middle Temple in London and a door tenant at Monckton Chambers, London. He practises in the fields of commercial litigation, competition law, EU law and arbitration, and appears regularly before the superior courts in Ireland and the Court of Justice of the European Union. He is frequently appointed as arbitrator in international commercial arbitrations and is one of Ireland’s representatives on the ICC Commission on Arbitration. He was elected in 2008 as a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in the United States.
Amanda Weston KC is a member of Garden Court Chambers. She is a leading public and administrative law silk and was shortlisted for Human Rights & Public Law Silk of the Year at the Chambers UK Bar Awards in 2021. She is a member of the “A” Panel of preferred counsel who act for the UK’s Equality & Human Rights Commission and one of the co-authors of Judicial Review: A Practical Guide.
Mario Siragusa is senior counsel at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in Rome. He specialises in EU and Italian competition law and complex commercial litigation. He appears frequently before the Court of Justice of the European Union, the General Court of the European Union and the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, as well as the Italian Antitrust Authority and Italian civil and administrative courts.
Chair
Catherine Donnelly SC practises at the Bar of Ireland and from Blackstone Chambers in London. She is a Fellow and Associate Professor at Trinity College Dublin and is one of the editors of De Smith’s Judicial Review. She specialises in European, public and commercial law and regularly appears before national courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
This hybrid event, hosted jointly with the EU Bar Association, will bring together an eminent panel to discuss effective advocacy techniques and strategies before the Court of Justice, the General Court and the European Court of Human Rights, at both the written and oral stages.
The event will be followed by a drinks reception in the Sheds for those who are able to attend in person.
